With 3.5 stops DR and in the hands of an experienced landscape photog, it shouldn't be a problem. I shoot both Canon and Nikon, and if I were to decide which one (D5 vs 1DX II), I would go with the 1Dx II because of the 70-200mm f/2.8 lens and other half-assed products from Nikon.
