If it were the turbo, you'd hear the grinding the whole time the turbo is spinning not only during acceleration. If not the sound symposer, it's definitely something leaking or vibrating in the induction path. Then start the engine, and at 2000rpm air should be blown out. If no air is blown out at all, then your turbo isn’t working or the pipes are blocked. See sections on boost pipe & VNT actuator for futher tests. 11.Turbo boost pipes. Post turbo, the pipes will be (or should be) under pressure when the engine is being revved or driven. High pressure thudding noise coming out a leak somewhere? Or worst case scenario for me is the DMF or crankshaft pulleys, or it can be bent air valves. The garage will test for this with a pressure/compression test.
